For nearly a year I worked with George Clinton's late nephew and Funkadelic extended family, Sa'd, on a project to bring George Clinton to Boiler Room in the form of a hybrid DJ meets live band performance. In August 2017 we finally received the call that George Clinton was ready to bring the vision to life.
As the roots of Detroit Techno were so inspired by the work of George Clinton and associated acts, I thought it would be only fitting to pair him with Detroit Techno DJs. For the broadcast I booked Detroit-born, Brooklyn-based DJ/producer, Rimarkable, longtime Detroit soulful Techno artist, Patrice Scott, and Brooklyn rising DJ, Turtle Bugg.
Everything took place in the heart of Brooklyn at the boroughs oldest continuously operating black owned discoteque, Sugarhill Supper Club.
